If you are not yet a TIAFT member, and you wish to join our association, please read the following. A non-refundable fee equal to the current year’s annual dues will be charged at application. The application fee will be applied to that year’s annual dues if the applicant is accepted into the organization.


TIAFT welcomes four categories of membership:

1. Full (Standard) Members

Persons who are actively engaged in forensic toxicology or related areas of analytical toxicology, or who have made significant contributions to the above fields.
Please remember that applicants must be recommended by two TIAFT members (sponsors) and approved by the Regional Representative or a TIAFT officer.

For Standard Members, dues are 60.00 U.S. Dollars (USD) per year. They include all the membership benefits offered by TIAFT, including subscription to the TIAFT Bulletin and the Journal of Analytical Toxicology (electronic version).

2. DCF Members

DCF Members are full members of the association who work in countries with a GDP per capita of less than $30,000 USD (according to the world bank database) effective January 2023. If you are unsure of your country's status, please email info@tiaft.org.

Please remember that applicants must be recommended by two TIAFT members (sponsors) and approved by the Regional Representative or a TIAFT officer.

For DCF members, dues are 20 U.S. Dollars (USD) per year. DCF members have full TIAFT membership benefits including electronic access to the Journal of Analytical Toxicology. DCF Members have access to the electronic copy of the Bulletin through the Members Only area of the website.

3. Honorary Members

Members who have served TIAFT in an outstanding manner are eligible to become Honorary Members of the Association.

They are nominated by the Executive Board. Acceptance will be by vote of the membership at an annual Business Meeting.

Honorary Members are excused from paying annual TIAFT membership dues but continue to receive mailed hardcopies of the TIAFT Bulletin, as well as online access to the Journal of Analytical Toxicology.

4. Retired Members

Members who have retired from full-time practice, have been TIAFT members in good standing for at least 25 years, and are at least 65 years of age.

Individuals who feel they qualify for Retired Member status must notify the Secretary the year prior to their request for membership change.

Retired Members are excused from dues payments and will continue to have access to the electronic version of the TIAFT Bulletin. However, they will not receive online access to the Journal of Analytical Toxicology.
