This opportunity is offered free to members of SOFT and/or TIAFT. Cost is $50 for nonmembers. More information can be found in the members area of the TIAFT website. Register here

Interpretation of Forensic Toxicology Results Around the Globe and Into the Future
Tuesday, December 7, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Dr. Randall Baselt authored the many editions of “Disposition of Toxic Drugs and Chemicals in Man" that scientists around the world rely upon for interpreting drug concentrations in forensic toxicology cases. This massive tome grew with each edition and is fondly referred to as the “Red Book.” But did you know that Dr. Baselt also authored the Green Book entitled “Drug Effects on Psychomotor Performance“ that will be released shortly as a new edition?

Throughout his life, Dr. Randall Baselt touched so many of us through his scholarly writing and many of us personally with his encouragement and generosity. A brief personal memory of Randy is shared by Robert Middleberg, PhD. who will also address utility of the Red Book in DUI cases. The challenges of interpreting the psychomotor effects of drugs are astutely confronted by Luke Rodda, PhD, and applying the principles of forensic toxicology to interpreting the role of drugs in drug-facilitated crimes is intelligently presented by Lisa Reidy, PhD. The many difficult interpretation issues of postmortem toxicology and the differences between ante- and postmortem toxicological interpretation are perceptively described by Dimitri Gerostamoulos, PhD, and “The Future of Analytical and Interpretative Toxicology: Where are We Going and How Do We Get There?” is perceptively addressed by Sarah Wille, PhD.

Please join us in honoring the life and contributions of Dr. Randall Baselt, and for the opportunity to learn from and discuss with five excellent toxicologists on interpretation of forensic toxicology results.
