This is the first of regular updates (hopefully monthly) from me as your new President to keep the membership as informed as it can be of activities of the board and other developments of interest to the TIAFT members.I would like to first of all also thank the organisers (Dr Patrick Mura and his colleagues), the French toxicology society (SFTA) and the Society of Hair Testing (SoHT) for running a wonderful meeting in Martinique. The quality of the presentations was very high and a tribute to the delegates who attended. No doubt some pictures will appear on the web page soon.

4th South American Regional Meeting
The 4th South American Regional Meeting of TIAFT will be held from November 3rd to 7th, 2008 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We are very pleased to invite all TIAFT members' worldwide colleagues, to participate in this meeting and enjoy Buenos Aires, tango music and dancing and its barbeques.
Forensic Toxicology Day
A day dedicated to forensic toxicology will be organised as part of the XVIIIth International Mediterranean Day of Forensic Medicine which will take place in Marseille, France, from the 6th to the 8th of October 2008.
