Alan Curry Award
Aim: The Alan Curry Award is the most prestigious award of The International Association of Forensic Toxicologists.Alan Curry was one of the most outstanding forensic toxicologists I have ever known. By his ownand his co-workers scientific publications, the UK contributions to the development of toxicology were of paramountworldwide importance.The article "Chemistry and Crime" in Chemistry in Britain 1969 by AS Curry was at the origin of my personal decisionto become a forensic toxicologist. A decision that I never regretted.

Eligible persons:
TIAFT members who have a long history of distinguished contributions to the field of forensic toxicology and to the TIAFT organization.
Nominations:
A call for nominations is published in the TIAFT bulletin. All members can nominate persons for the Alan Curry award by sending their names and the reasons they feel this individual has earned this honour to the President.
The Executive Board votes for the winner.
The Board announces the winner of the Award at the TIAFT Annual Meeting.
Award
The award consists of a memento engraved with the name of the award and the awardee's name and a diploma.

TIAFT Achievement Award
At the TIAFT Annual meeting 2000 in Helsinki, the Executive Committee (Board) announced the institution of the TIAFT Achievement Award, starting in 2001.Aim:
This Award is to pay tribute to scientists for outstanding achievements in Forensic Toxicology, as a science, a profession, or both, during the first part of their career.
Eligible persons:
The recipient should be a TIAFT member under 46 years of age by December 31st of the year that the award is given.
Nominations:
A call for nominations is made in the TIAFT Bulletin early in the year. Members are invited to submit nominations, accompanied by a written statement of the accomplishments of the individual and a suitable curriculum vitae of the candidate, to the chairman of the Awards Committee. All nominations are treated confidentially. The Committee judges the nominations and makes a recommendation to the President. The committee chair or the president announces the winner of the Award at the TIAFT Annual Meeting.

Award Committee
To assist the Board in the implementation of this Award, it appoints a Committee for a period of three years. At least four continents should be represented on the committee. The president is member ex officio.
